Every blogger has a set of tools he can’t blog without. These tools can include anything, ranging from backink checker to keyword density checker or anything else. These tools make your life much easier, and do save lot of your time. There are paid as well as free SEO tools on the web, In this article I’ll be mentioning some of the free tools which I use at this blog. Using this tools can help you rank up your blog and make it more SEO friendly.
Tool 1. Google Adwords External
While making a perfect post, the second thing I do after I have the idea to write about is, look for a perfect keyword. The more specific you make the title, the less competition you have. There may be a long list of such tools, but even pros suggest and use google’s adwords External tool. The best part is that it doesn’t cost you anything. You can access this must to use tool at google’s adwords site. Using this tool would let you know, what people are searching, so you can include those terms in your Blog’s posts.
Tool 2. QuickSprout.com
Quicksprout comes second in the list of my favorite SEO tools. It analyzes url and highlights its SEO mistakes, errors, warnings and ranks them accordingly. Apart from analyzing your own URL , you can also compare your blog with three of your competitors. The tool will reveal you the keywords they are using. Using this tool you can have birds eye view on various elements of your blog. The tool also tells you how many pages of your blog are indexed by google, your social share scores , blog loading time and checks your blog against common SEO norms. Tool 3. Pingdom Tools
Speed is one of the most important factors affecting your site’s conversation rates. No matter how much you love your blog, it needs to be fast to get loved by readers too. A fast site is also loved by search engines, which reflects in high rankings in SERP ( Search engine page results ). A variety of things are responsible for your blog’s loading time, it might be images , CSS , JS or anything. For a faster and quick loading blog you should optimize images, CSS , JS and using a free CDN like Incapsula can let you speed up your blog easily. After you make the neccasary changes, go to tools.pingdom.com to check your blog’s loading time.
Tool 4. Gtmetrix
The first thing the website says is “The web should be fast – Google” . The purpose of this tool is similiar to pingdom tools, but Gtmetrix makes it clear that which factors are putting your blog on the back foot, so that you can work accordingly. It tells your blog’s load time as well as page speed grade and Yslow grade. Unlike pingdom tools, Gtmetrix allows to compare your blog’s load time with other URL’s too ( may be your competitor’s ).
Tool 5. Google Webmasters Tool
There is so much to tell about this tool. If you call yourself a webmaster, and never used or heard about this tool, you are lacking from a lot of features. Using this tool, you can allow google to index your blog / site faster, control how often your blog/ site is indexed, target users internationally, check how your URL will look in google search , submit your sitemap , check backlinks and do much more.
To be able to use this tool, you first need to verify your site by placing a <meta> tag in the <head> of your site or uploading a verification file to the ftp. The verification process is similar to Bing webmasters tool, the meta tags and verification vary.
Tool 6. Broken Link Checker
Broken links are frustrating, don’t you feel so ? Not only it increases your bounce rates, but it also makes readers upset so they won’t return too soon. To avoid these type of situations, check your blog / site regularly for broken links and repair them as soon as link(s) are found.

Tool 7. XML Map generator
Google and other search engines can easily dive into your blog and index your site / blog faster if you submit them your sitemap. The two kinds of sitemap I’ve dealt with are HTML sitemap , and XML Sitemaps. If you aiming to be indexed by google, you should use a XML one.
Making a XML Sitemap is easy, go to Sitemap generator, and make changes as in snapshot below.
After clicking on generate sitemap, download the file provided, and upload it your Site’s FTP. After uploading, it can be submitted to google webmasters tool.
Tool 8. SEOQuake Toolbar
The name itself leaves no stones unturned to explain what this toolbar does, did it ? If you are not a regular reader, you might not know I’ve published a detailed review on this toolbar. This toolbar offers a lot of features. Among the list of stats, which the toolbar tells about the site come its Alexa rank, google page index, moz , semrush rank and price, tweets, likes , +1’s , keyword density and much more.

Tool 9. Title and Description
What goes in the title and description in the <meta> tags is the key to successful SEO. This might be the reason why you are behind your competitor. Once you have them, you can analyze and plan your Title and description well.
Tool 10. Image SEO
Images pay quite important role in SEO, as crawlers while indexing your page check your images for Alt attribute and tells if anything is wrong. Apart from checking just images the tool also checks scripts, if they are getting blocked or not. Optimizing images can help you load your page faster and better.
