Monthly Report : January 2015

After I wrote the yearly report, I thought to make a new goal in 2015 i.e to write a monthly report which would be published at the end of the month. This won’t only help me become more transparent and friendly with the readers, but would also reveal my readers, what I’ve been doing all the month behind the scenes. To begin what I planned, I am writing my first monthly report i.e January 2015.

There is one more advantage of publishing monthly reports, you can always compare your progress to what was your progress earlier. If you write a personal diary ( start writing one, if you don’t ) you must have experienced the happinesses when you read your previous written entries, same is with monthly reports.  So, Below is what I’ve been doing this month :

Monthly Traffic : Traffic stats

We all love to see the bars high when we view traffic stats, but it takes a lot of time and hard work. Bloggers like neil patel, who score 100,000 page views per month have invested a lot of capital and hard work in their content. However to get in the spot light is quite a hard work, so the graphs this month are lower, which are likely to increase with time.

monthly traffic

I received an average of 100 readers per day resulting in 2k in month. An average reader spent near 5 minutes on my Blog which translates to fact that he / she read a post or two. With quality content I plan to increase this graph next month. My ultimatum is 100,000 page views per month.

User trends : New VS Returning

user trends new and returning38 % of the traffic my blog received was from returning traffic and the rest 61 % were new visitors. This translates to 450 users ( returning ) and 724 users ( new ). Most of the visitors visited my blog one day after any article was published. Not sure about the reason, but now I am concentrating more on gaining subscribers for a better Email outreach program, and at the same time working hard on making my blog SEO friendly to grasp more search ( new ) traffic.

User trends : Countries

user trends countries

The users I received were from several countries : The most of readers came from India ( 479 ) , United states ( 300 ) russia ( 163 ) Brazil ( 18 ) China ( 5 ) Indonesia ( 15 ) Australia ( 9 ) Canada ( 10 ) and several others.

Ranking UP of Alexa Rank

rising graph

I don’t exactly remember where I was in 2014, but it was surely some where around 234k or around, now in the end of January month my rank has been dropped ( In sense of increasing ) to 148K ( 148, 511 ) and my site is quite popular in India with an alexa rank of 10, 686 in that country. And a total of 46 sites have properly linked backed to my blog.

Experiment with Scripts

This month I’ve been experimenting with several scripts, all of them being open source script. I installed a social networking script ( pligg, elgg, and one more social script ) and several CMS scripts, forum building scripts etc. But I removed all of them, reason being shortage of traffic. Once I would have enough traffic , I shall continue playing with the scripts in future.

So, how had your month been ?

Now, its your turn, I would love if you share with me how had your month been. I love listening to my readers, its not essential that you must share your blog stats, just share me how had your month been. So, where is your monthly report ?
